Sunday Workday at the Farm
by Gena Vasbinder on 01/30/12
What a beautiful day it was yesterday. A nice and breezy 50ish January day. Meanwhile, the temperature in the hoop-house was a comfortable and sweat inducing 80 degrees. The soil was tilled up and worked. What a nice and rich black color it is! This Tuesday we begin sowing lettuce, spinach and radish seed in the hoop house.
New for 2012, our blog!
by Gena Vasbinder on 01/16/12
Welcome to 2012 everyone! Glad to have you back and we are looking forward to a great growing season this spring. We are in the process of deciding what new veggies to grow and how to get them to you as fast as we can. Our customers know nothing compares to fresh produce.
The Swimming Cow Blog is where we share our farm updates, activities and recipes with you. This is an open blog; we invite you to share comments and recipes with our readers.
So, to answer the question that some of you might have, why the Swimming Cow?
Well, our farm is in Cowgill , Mo and we often joke about our cows having gills and how they are the best swimming cows around. It seemed only natural to name our blog after them. So, check in weekly, comment when you can and be on the lookout for pictures of swimming cows.
